Rosemary Lodge

The consultation period for Rosemary Lodge was completed on the 11th of April.  All information collated was reviewed by the Board of Trustees at The Wimbledon Guild.  Having carefully considered the options available the decision has been made to close the residential and nursing home, Rosemary Lodge.

This follows a thorough survey commissioned from expert consultants which showed that even if a considerable investment of more than £1.5 million was found to upgrade facilities, the premises would still not comply with growing health and safety, legal and residential care requirements needed in the future.

The Guild will be working with residents and families to find the right solution for each person and it is anticipated that this programme will be completed by the end of summer 2013.

Wendy Pridmore says:  'We would like to thank the residents of Rosemary Lodge, their families and our staff for their continued support throughout the consultation process.  We are now focussing on finding the best possible new home for each individual resident and we will be working closely with each family as we move forward.  '

Full support is being provided to all staff members, some of whom have already found new employment.  The number of staff at Rosemary Lodge will be gradually reduced over the coming months as residents and their families find alternative accommodation.
