Counselling service
To apply to volunteer with the counselling service please email a cv to jpriestley@wimbledonguild.co.uk.
The cv should include details of training and experience to date as well as details of your investment in your own personal development through counselling etc.
All other volunteers should use the Volunteering Application Form
Befriending
Our volunteer Befrienders visit older, often housebound people in their own homes to provide companionship and a listening ear. Training and support is provided. Volunteers who can offer daytime visits on weekdays are especially welcome.
Day Centre
Helpers are needed on Wednesdays and Fridays 10am-3pm at Guild House, Worple Road, SW19 to help run interesting and enjoyable activities for groups of around 25 older people.
Senior Social Club
A driver is required on an occasional basis, on Thursdays, to take members to and from Drake House Club, based at St George’s Road, Wimbledon, SW19 between 1pm and 3.30pm. Some of the members use mobility aids and may need assistance. A sense of humour and patience are essential.

Care Home with nursing
Wimbledon Guild's Care Home with nursing, Rosemary Lodge, needs people to offer:
- help with activities for the residents and their visitors
- companionship for residents
- help at meal times
Charity Shop, Mitcham
More volunteer shop assistants are always welcome, raising valuable funds to continue
our work.
No previous experience in retail is necessary, as training is provided.
Administration support
We gladly accept volunteer support with general administration tasks.
If you have any spare time Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm please do contact us.
Wimbledon Village Fair
Saturday 19th June 2010
Our main annual fundraising event with a horse show, dog show, all-day entertainment, food village and over 200 craft and produce stalls.
We will need 100 volunteers for:
- the early shift, setting up and directing stallholders to their pitches
- running information and sales stalls
- selling raffle tickets
-
shaking collecting tins
- supporting other volunteers by running the check-in desk, and keeping up a flow of tea, coffee etc
- the late shift, helping to clear up
