The Wimbledon Guild Counselling Service (WGCS) commenced in 1990 and provides an essential service to the community. Its aim is to provide low cost, easily accessible counselling for those in need of support. During 2004 the service conducted over four thousand sessions, using approximately 60 volunteer counsellors. Many of the counsellors are qualified or are in their last years of training. All of them are experienced and are regularly supervised by experienced supervisors.
The service is accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
