Introducing Merton Moves
Merton Moves is here to help you adopt a more physically active lifestyle. Regular physical activity is key to healthy ageing, and it's never too late to start!
Merton Moves is a new initiative from Wimbledon Guild and Merton Council to help people at, or nearing, retirement age stay active.
On this webpage, you'll find tips and advice on your journey to better health. You'll also find information on why an active lifestyle is so important to your physical and mental health, and your independence.
Always talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise programme and, once you do, start slowly and carefully.
"I took the Merton Moves Pledge because I wanted to get going again after lockdown. At my age, it's a case of 'use it or lose it'!
I also liked meeting people in person - I think social contact is every bit as important as exercise for our well-being.
To anyone thinking of trying Merton Moves, I'd say just go for it! I'm glad I did" - Merton Mover, age 75 – 84
