Joanna Bogle will tell the incredible story of Croydon Airport, which began in the First World War as a field for the Royal Flying Corps and became the most famous airport in the world. In 1930 Amy Johnson took off from Croydon Aiport in her successful attempt to become the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia, and later the Battle of Britain was fought from there.
